Forte Marghera is a historical military fortress in Mestre, 10 km from Venice, IT. We were invited by Live Arts Cultures as artists in residence at the C32 Gallery Space. During our stay we recorded Forte Marghera’s dynamic sonic environment and created a sound installation in an abandoned water tower.

Live Arts Cultures: Performance

Live Arts Cultures is an association based in Venice that organizes residencies, performances and promotes performing arts: particularly dance, music, performing arts and new technologies.

We created a soundscape combining horn, live electronics and recordings of crickets. The crickets were recorded outside of the warehouse which connected to the C32 Gallery Workspace. We performed with noise/experimental sound artist Alessandro Ragazzo in a vast warehouse space surrounded by candlelight.

We are currently at Forte Marghera, a historical military fortress in Mestre, 10 km from Venice, IT. We were invited by Live Arts Cultures as artists in residence at the C32 Gallery Space. We are creating portable sound installations in various locations within the fort. We will also create a performance combining field recordings collected from the fortress, horn and live electronics.

Lisbon: Day 1

Posted by

We arrived to Lisbon early this morning, and once we became settled in our apartment we walked through downtown Lisbon toward the water. On our way we discovered Galerias Romanas da Baixaan underground tunnel that was constructed during the time of the Roman occupation, during the reign of Emperor Augustus. The gallery is only open on September 21 & 22 every year. Unfortunately, the line up was much too long so we were unable to see the site.

After spending hours sitting by the sea, we traveled downtown and took the tram up the hill to Bairro Alto, where we ate and spent the rest of the evening exploring.
